This might look sort of like a screaming skull but it’s actually an x-ray image from the orbiting Chandra Observatory of the Perseus Cluster, a cluster of galaxies in the constellation Perseus that is 320 million light-years away and comprised of thousands of galaxies.
You can’t see any of the galaxies in this image, just a fifty million degree cloud of intracluster gas, which is more massive than all the galaxies combined.
