Discovered in 2005, the exoplanet HD 189733 b is one of the best-studied planets outside the Solar System, orbiting a star about 19 parsecs away in the Vulpecula, or Fox, constellation is the first exoplanet to have it’s colour measured. But that’s possibly where any similarities with earth begin and end. It orbits so close to its star that a year lasts only 2.2 days, the surface is a scorching 844 °C… oh and it rains glass.
