When you think of fancy colouration in nature you probably think of some of the more spectacular species of flower, maybe a baboon’s arse, that kind of thing. Yet some of the most spectacular creatures, way up there on the more insane end of the colour spectrum, are the frogs. Those short-bodied tailless amphibians kick a ton of ass in the crazy markings stakes.

Unfortunately, amphibians are the most endangered of all vertebrates, with more than a third of the 6600 known species threatened with extinction.
